Reverse Retro Uniforms
2/12/2022
The Reverse Retro uniform is a celebration of the student-athletes, honored traditions, and historic moments that have defined Washington women's basketball.

The colors and design are inspired by the 1974-75 team, who were pioneers of the program.
On Sunday, Washington women's basketball will be wearing the uniforms at home vs. UCLA (Feb. 13, 2022).

The piping around the collar and the UW logo on the front of the jerseys are reminiscent of the design from the past.
The retro logo on the shorts is the same logo introduced in 1971.

Pioneering the Program
The 1974-75 Washington women's basketball team were pioneers, tipping off into the first season of NCAA competition.
Christine Burkhart became the first head coach of the Huskies. Burkhart graduated from UW in 1971, and during her time, played two seasons and led the team in scoring. 36 years after graduating, Burkhart was awarded five varsity letters.
