SEATTLE – Washington Beach Volleyball Head Coach Derek Olson announced the addition of the first three members of the Huskies' 2023-24 signing class today. The group includes two beach-only players in Zoey Henson, and Piper Stephenson, and dual-sport standout Kierstyn Barton, who signed with the Husky indoor team but has had a decorated junior beach career and plans to play both.
Henson comes from Southern California and Barton is from Arizona, while Henson is coming across the country from Georgia, showing the sport's broadening appeal and the progress Olson has made in establishing the Beach Dawgs nationally.

Zoey Henson
Cypress, Calif. | Cypress H.S.
5-11 | Defender
Coach Olson: "In my opinion, there isn't a better recruit in the country for this year's class. She has won multiple national championships at the junior level and has the skills and characteristics to go really far in this sport. I have been fortunate to coach Zoey within the USA pipeline and her ability to play with anyone and get the most out of them speaks to the type of person she is. She will make an immediate impact and Husky fans are going to love getting to know her."

Piper Stephenson
Powder Springs, Ga. | Mount Paran Christian School
6-2 | Blocker
Coach Olson: "Piper flew under the radar a bit because she was playing a lot of indoor volleyball when schools were recruiting their '23 class. What stood out to me was her improvement in each of her recruiting videos. She has a big presence at the net and hits really good angles. She has a ton of upside and will no doubt build a name for herself in the Pac-12."

Kierstyn Barton
Chandler, Ariz. | Corona Del Sol H.S.
6-2 | Blocker
Coach Olson: "Kierstyn committed as a dual sport athlete so will split time indoors and on the sand. We are really fortunate to have her as a part of this class. She has the potential to make an immediate impact and continue the legacy of strong dual sport athletes at UW. She is one of the most physical prospects in her class and is an all around great volleyball player and person."
