SEATTLE – The #7 Washington Huskies recorded their 11
th shutout this season, blanking the Oregon State Beavers 5-0 to clinch their second straight Pac-12 series victory. Washington scored during the third at-bat of the game and never looked back from there.
Taran Alvelo retired 14 batters in a row in the heart of the game to stifle the Oregon State offense. She struck out 11, her eighth double-digit strikeout game of the season, and gave up just three hits. Oregon State did not move a runner into scoring position until two outs in the seventh inning, its only RISP all game.
Sis Bates scored a run in the first with a double and drove in another with a single in the third.

Nawai Kaupe, and
Amirah Milloy all scored as well, with
Morganne Flores picking up an RBI in the game.

- First Inning: For the third game in a row, Bates scored in the first inning, this time doubling to leadoff the game and scoring on a throwing error after stealing third.
- Third Inning: With two runners on, Bates bounced a single up the middle for a run. Flores followed that up with a groundout making it 3-0.
- Sixth Inning: With a runner on first, Helm attempted to bunt them over, only for both the runner and Helm to score when an errant throw to first flew all the way into the rightfield corner.

- Bates (2x3, R, 2B, RBI, 2 SB) has been caught just once in her last 19 steal attempts.
- Flores (0x3, RBI) has a five-game RBI streak, with ten RBI in that time.
- Alvelo (7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 11 K) moved passed Caitlin Noble for fourth in UW history in strikeouts.
- This was Alvelo's 26th career shutout, putting her fifth in UW history.
