About Eric Byrnes:
In his 11-year Major League career, Eric Byrnes played in 963 games for five teams, hitting .258 with 109 home runs, driving in 396 runs and recording 129 stolen bases. He broke into the big leagues with the Oakland Athletics in 2000 after being selected in the eighth round of the 1998 MLB Draft. He hit over 20 home runs three times in his career, including a career best 26 for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006. He followed up that season with 21 home runs, and a career high 83 RBI and 50 stolen bases for the 2007 NL West champion D-Backs to finish 11th in the MVP voting. His last season in the Majors was 2010 with the Seattle Mariners.

Prior to his professional career, Byrnes played collegiately for the UCLA Bruins from 1995-98. He was a career .331 hitter over his four seasons and racked up 75 doubles, which still ranks second all-time in Pac-12 history. In 2013, Byrnes was inducted into the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame.

Today, Byrnes stays busy as ever. He can be seen on the MLB Network as an analyst, including the Emmy Award-winning studio show MLB Tonight. Byrnes also previously had broadcast roles with ESPN's Baseball Tonight, MLB on FOX, the Pac-12 Network, Fox Sports Arizona, The Best Dame Sports Show Period, MLB Home Plate on Sirius/XM and KNBR 680 in San Francisco.

Byrnes is also the subject of the award winning documentary, "Diamond To The Rough", which chronicles his transition from retired pro baseball player to world-class endurance athlete. The story follows Byrnes as he competes in the 2016 Western 100 Mile Endurance Run, attempting to become the first former mainstream professional athlete to complete the grueling 100 mile course which navigates 19,000 feet of elevation gain and 23,000 feet of descent across the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
