Kristyn Hoffa is back for her junior season with her sights set on improving already-impressive scores across the board. Last year, Hoffa had a 9.900 against Utah on floor, a career-high for her in the first home meet of the season. After an injury cut her season short, Hoffa will be back and stronger than ever for the GymDawgs this season.
What are you looking forward to most this season?
I am looking forward to getting back out on the floor and having a great time every step of the way with my teammates.
Why did you choose UW?
I chose UW for multiple reasons. One being that the team had a family feel to it, another being the incredible academics that UW has to offer.
What are your hobbies outside gymnastics?
I consider napping a big hobby of mine. I also enjoy binge-watching on Netflix and hanging out with my friends.
What is your favorite place to hangout in Seattle?
I absolutely love going to a view point near Alki Beach at night and looking at the skyline of downtown Seattle. The lights reflect on the water and I could stay there for hours.
How do you get ready for a meet?
I usually get myself pumped up by listening to my favorite music artists.
What are your goals this year?
This year I want to come back stronger than I was last year. I want to add new skills in my floor routine and score higher than I did last year.
What do you want to do after college?
After college I want to go to nursing school and become an operating room nurse.
What is your favorite part of UW?
My favorite part of UW is the campus. It is absolutely breathtaking and so big. I still have not explored all of it and I am a junior!
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
The best advice I have ever received was from an old family friend. She had once told me before a meet to "Do your best and God will do the rest". As long as I try my best, I know God will help with the rest. Ever since then, for every single thing in my life I try my hardest and know He will always help me.
What is your hidden talent?
I can try a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue in less than 10 seconds.
