Bodily and sophomore Handwalla Bwana—last season's freshman of the year—earned first-team honors to lead the way for the Huskies. Redshirt-junior forward Kyle Coffee, senior defender Garrett Jackson, junior defender Quentin Pearson and redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Saif Kerawala received second-team recognition while senior defenseman Justin Fiddes earned honorable mention.
The seven players on the squad matched the most for Washington since 2009 when eight Huskies earned All-Pac-12 honors. It was just the fourth time in the last 11 years UW has placed seven or more on the all-conference squad.
Bodily was impressive in his first collegiate season, leading the team and ranking second in the conference with seven assists and added three assists. He ranked third in the Pac-12 and led all conference freshmen in points with 13 and was one of just Huskies to appear in all 19 games.
Bwana continued his stellar, young career. A year removed from himself being conference Freshman of the Year, Bwana led the team and ranked second in the Pac-12 with eight goals and 22 points (8g, 6a). His six assists were the third-most in the conference and he tied for the lead in shots with 55.
Jackson, Pearson and Fiddes were solid along the back line, helping the Huskies hold opponents to just 19 goals on the season. The trio started all but one game together this season and were among the top four players in minute played, each recording well over 1,500 minute. Pearson also added two goals and a pair of assists to his tally with Fiddes recording three assists and Jackson contributing one assist.
Kerawala was solid in net through much of the season for the Huskies, posting a 1.05 goals against average—the second-lowest in the Pac-12. Kerawala posted two shutout streaks of 220 minutes or more, the last one snapped in the final regular season game after amassing 288:42 minutes without allowing a goal. For the season, he recorded 42 saves and had a seven shutouts.
Coffee battled an injury through the early part of the season, but was impressive once he hit the pitch more regularly. The redshirt-junior tallied five goals in just 577 minute played with all coming in Pac-12 play. Coffee had a stretch where he scored three of Washington's four goals in two home games against Stanford and California in mid-October and scored a goal in the regular-season finale at Oregon State.
Washington continues to have a large bulk of the names on the all-conference squads, especially under Head Coach Jamie Clark. Since Clark took over in 2011, the Huskies have had 40 players earn All-Pac-12 honors with three players earning Freshman of the Year honors, one earning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and Clark being named Coach of the Year in 2013.
Washington wrapped up the regular season with a 10-6-1 overall record and earned an at-large bid to the 2017 NCAA Tournament—its second consecutive berth and fifth in the last six years. The Huskies open postseason play on Thursday, hosting cross-town rival Seattle University in an opening-round match at 6:00 p.m. at Husky Soccer Stadium.
