
Three Set to Join 2018-19 Roster

SEATTLE – Three signees for the 2018-19 Washington women's tennis squad signed their National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, five-star recruit Delara Zamani and two walk-ons, Katherine Hernandez and Zlata Uzdenova.

- Five-star recruit and scholarship athlete
- Ranked #26 in her class and #4 in Texas on TennisRecruiting.net
- Against other 5-star recruits, she is 8-4
- She is undefeated against all other rated recruits, 14-0
- 2014 Closed Regional Girls 16s Singles and Doubles Champion
- 2016 Austin ITF Doubles Champion
- 2017 USTA Texas Grand Slam Girls 18s Singles Runner-Up and Doubles Champion
- Started playing tennis at the age of 3 as a simple hobby to do with her dad
Katherine (Katie) Hernandez | Huntington Beach, Calif. | Mater Dei High School
- Finished ranked #82 in her class in 2017 on TennisRecruiting.net
- Competed and qualified to the Girls 14s Mains Draw at the Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships
- Reached the quarterfinals of two regional tournaments and placed fifth in one regional tournament in Southern California
- Consistently ranked in the top 50 in the girls 12, 14, 16 in the USTA Southern California Section
- Two-time MVP for the Varsity Tennis Team at Mater Dei High School
- Placed 4th in the USTA Father and Daughter National Tennis Tournament with her father Art Hernandez.
Zlata Uzdenova | Siberia, Russia | Valley Christian Academy
- Competes in USTA NorCal junior and open tournaments, winning the 2018 Stockton Jr. Championship Tournament and reached the Quarterfinals of the 2018 Santa Cruz Junior Excellence tournament
- Was in the top 40 in Russia under 14s
- Since 2013, lives and trains at the Gorin Tennis Academy in Granite Bay, Calif.
- From Tomsk, a small city located in South-Western Siberia, Russia
- Started playing at the age of 6 when her mother brought her to see other kids practice
