If you were meeting someone for the first time, what are five things about yourself they wouldn't know about you?
I enjoy watching documentaries. I am majoring in education and want to teach high school. I grew up in a small town called Puyallup, WA. I have a dog named Bentley and he is my best friend. I value family immensely.
What does it feel like to compete inside of Alaska Airlines Arena?
It feels amazing. I love the rush of competing for the state I grew up in and I feed off the crowd's energy which feels great.
What is something important any coach has taught you away from competition?
Value school because gymnastics ends and when it does you have your education to fall back on.
What is it like to compete in the Pac-12 Conference?
A little surreal, because you are competing against world class gymnasts on a huge stage. It's such a cool thing.
What are some of your earliest memories of competing in gymnastics?
My earliest memories of competing was trying to sleep before my first meet and being so nervous I thought to myself, "I want to quit." But after I did it I fell in love with competing.
Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
My mom. She raised my brother and I by herself and was always willing to do anything for us in order for us to reach our dreams even if times were tough for her and our family.
What do you love most about gymnastics?
I love that gymnastics makes me a very strong person mentally and physically in all aspects of my life.
Who were your favorite gymnasts growing up?
Shawn Johnson because she is such a powerful gymnast and flies when she tumbles.
Can you talk about some of the experiences that have been opened up to you through your sport and how they have changed your life?
Gymnastics has taught me how to manage my time very well. Because of this I have had a lot of success in school because growing up I always knew I had to finish my assignments before practice.
What has been the most exciting or challenging thing to happen to you at UW?
The most exciting thing I have experienced at UW is having teammates who are like family. My teammates are always there when I need them and that is because of the family-like atmosphere we have here at UW.
